My best moment in 2016

In general this year was not very good for my and I find it hard to think about which was the best time this 2016, but I can rescue the outputs that are carried out with friends to the mountain, different locations in which I felt really well and to those who have never thought it could reach.

I had never gone up a hill or had walked as much as I did this year and although I find it hard and I get tired a lot, I like to go, I leave even though it is a time of Santiago chaotic in which we live. 

Without the need to go to very distant places or expensive, one can weather the noise and heat of the big city. This year we went to the forest Panul, which is located in the commune of Florida, to the Quebrada de Macul, the Cajon del Maipo and the cerro Chicauma, that remains in the area north of Santiago, near lampa. 

In our last exit, we were surprised by the rain in the night, with thunder and lightning, was a very exciting and entertaining experience.

Fortunately I have very good friends with whom I can make this type of outputs and which I encourage always on the road.

Elective Economic Geography

The bouquet you enjoy studying this semester was the "Elective Economic Geography". During the career, we have had 3 courses related to economy, of which I have learned a lot. The focus of this elective is directed to the legal part; how environmental standards and solution to environmental conflicts.

In this field we study various theories that explain the methods of compensation that are used by companies that are in conflict with a community, exemplifying with Chilean conflicts; such as those generated by the mining industry, the thermoelectric plants, hydroelectric plants and pulp mills.

The evaluation form is just a job throughout the semester in pairs, that we have to come together with a report. 

I thought it was very important for the content of this subject, because so that you can understand how you handle the environmental conflicts and the way in which they operate the corporations and the state as regulator, coming to the conclusion that there is a whole subject of vested interests, both at the economic level, socio-economic and political, that prevents contaminated territories can change their situation, being heard the voices of the inhabitants of these localities that require environmental quality worthy.

An expert on my field, David Harvey

David Harvey is a english geographer recognized at the global level for its large number of publications in relation to the current geography, looking at it from a social point of view, even though he is able to relate topics such as politics, economy, society and territory.

In his beginnings, he was interested in the historical and quantitative geography, belonging to the current geography classic, but in the years 70 arrives in Baltimore (USA) and begins to be interested by a current completely opposite to the classic, that is the radical current.

Harvey is also renowned for its great contributions to this current linked to marxist theory.

Personally, I was fortunate enough to attend a conference that gave last year at the Catholic University, on that occasion the auditorium was full of people eager to listen, not only people of geography but that of other areas of knowledge because Harvey transcends in the social sciences. It was a conference really fascinating.

In my opinion, I think that is a great geographer has managed to create theories that are adjusted to the reality of the modern world in which we live, governed practically by capitalism.

THE SHINING, one of my favorite movies

This movie is directed by Stanley Kubrick and starring by Jack Nicholson, Shelley Duvall and Danny Lloyd in the year 1980.

The shining is one of my favorite movies because I love the storyline, is very interesting, intriguing and original.

Jack Nicholson for its part if a makes a great interpretation, with your face of crazy and him performance that leave me very impressed. Also Danny acted very well together with Shelly Duvall.

The history is based in one family that travels to take care of a hotel in the mountain during the winter. Jack is a writer and his wife is a housewife, together they have a son, Danny, which has telepathic abilities, as well as the chef of the hotel, which succeeds in establishing psychic contact. In the passing of the history, Jack begins to hallucinate. Finally, he  seeks to kill his family but under a trance psyche. Thanks to the telephatic skills  of Danny and the connection that achieved with him chef, was able to request help, achieving saved along with his mother.

This is a very good film according to my opinion, I hope you like it!

My favorite photograph

This photograph was taken by my boyfriend Camilo, during a trip to the south in July of this year, specifically in the Todos los Santos lake. This photograph is very important for both, as we had always dreamed of seeing a wonderful Martín Pescador, which is the name of this bird, which is the name of this bird that in Chile is seen only in the south and in aquatic environments, given his food.

We were on the shores of lake when he arrived this beautiful female to perch on an iron in the water, at a small distance from us. It was then when we took out the camera and started photographing it. It was a beautiful time, as it gave us the impression that he was posing for us.

Among all the photos that we took, this was the best. Without doubt, this photograph reminds me of the excitement I felt when he saw her so close and majestic.

Pescado Rabioso, my favorite band

My favorite band is Pescado Rabioso, led by Luis Alberto Spinetta, one of the best composers of Latin America in my opinion.

This band was born in Argentina in the year 1971 and was dissolved in 1973. Despite the short time that lasted the band, left for the history of humanity 3 great disks, which are: Destormentándonos (1972), Pescado 2 (1973) and Artaud (1973).

Knowing this band marked a before and an after in my life. I opened the way to other musical styles and other disks in the "Flaco" Spinetta. When you hear Artaud for the first time, I questioned everything I had heard before and enjoyed it more than any other he had ever heard. I am infinitely grateful to my dear friend Belem who with much affection I transferred the disks of Pescado Rabioso to my old mp3.

The perfect combination between the electric guitar, bass, drums and keyboards, makes this band a delight for the ears, in addition to its wonderful letters. Their songs are true poetry musicalized.  Listen to these discs always make me feel better when I am not very well and I don't get bored of listening.

My "favorite" piece of technology

I don't have a favorite piece of technology, but the smartphone is the most useful for my.

At present, the smartphones are almost a vital element. The most of the people don't leave their homes without smartphones. In them we have connection to internet all time, this allow us to keep informed and connected.

I smartphone makes about three or four years ago and almost for obligation, but I must admit that everything is more easy with one of them. I like that you can access quickly to the emails, search some important information, use the GPS, take photographs, record and watch videos, listen to music, play and maintain contact with friends and family, in addition to make calls.

My life without smartphone would be less connected  and would have to access the internet only from a computer.
